Tribute to Thomas Geoffrey Booth

In the late 1960s, I was given an unusual opportunity to take a year’s leave of absence from my job in hospital pharmacy to work as a research assistant in the pharmacy practice research unit at the University of Bradford. The year working for Professor Booth intensified my interest in research, encouraged me to think and to evaluate publications, and broadened my knowledge of the profession.

Geoff’s encouragement, support and guidance, then and subsequently, greatly influenced my career in the NHS. There must be very many pharmacists who have benefitted similarly and the profession owes him a considerable debt.

My thoughts now are with his wife Mary.
