Candidate for the National Pharmacy Advisory Council for England

Ash studied pharmacy at Portsmouth and, after graduating in 1983, he began his pharmacy career in central London and opened his first pharmacy in Streatham, south London in 1986.

In early 2004, he was one of the first pharmacists to qualify as a supplementary prescriber and qualified as an independent prescriber in June 2007.

Ash has been chair of the National Pharmacy Association, is a past president of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) and is a former vice president of the International Pharmacy Federation.

Ash is currently chair of Pharm@Sea, a wholly owned subsidiary of University Hospitals Sussex. He is a clinical advisor to the National Association of Primary Care, following a term as president.

He is a non-executive director at Oxford University Hospitals and a non-executive director of NHS Sussex Integrated Care System.

He received an OBE for services to pharmacy and the NHS and is Fellow of the RPS.
