Royal College of Pharmacy elections 2026: Katherine Pearson

Candidate for the National Pharmacy Advisory Council for England

With experience across hospital, primary care and academia, I bring a grounded, practice‑informed perspective to national pharmacy leadership. I have worked in specialist clinical areas, including renal medicine, diabetes, infectious diseases and respiratory care, alongside independent prescribing experience. This breadth gives me a clear understanding of what pharmacists need to thrive in increasingly complex roles.

My career is shaped by a commitment to education and workforce development. I am a Fellow of Advance HE, hold a PGCert in education for health professionals and sit on the Pharmacy Education Conference Steering Group. As a lead pharmacist teacher practitioner and now assistant professor in clinical pharmacy at the University of Birmingham, I have supported student, trainee and postgraduate pharmacists. I continue to work clinically as a surgical pharmacist in an acute hospital.

I am committed to representing the real pressures facing pharmacists and championing structured training and meaningful development across the workforce.
