Royal College of Pharmacy elections 2026: Shazia Patel

Candidate for the National Pharmacy Advisory Council for England

I have over 22 year’s experience across health and social care. I have developed a comprehensive understanding of the complexities and challenges inherent in these environments, particularly in driving change and managing complex projects.

As an associate medical director (pharmacy), NHS England East Midlands Primary Care team, my expertise includes organisational and strategic development, leading complex change, and driving integration between primary care and community pharmacy.

My national roles, including as a chief pharmaceutical officer’s clinical fellow and at the Care Quality Commission, have deepened my understanding of policy and patient safety. I am passionate about championing community pharmacy, advocating for innovative, high-quality services and supporting the wider healthcare profession. And committed to advancing the pharmacy profession through strategic leadership, clinical governance, and collaboration. Making me relevant, and bringing a diverse background and freshness to serve for the Royal College of Pharmacy board election.
