RPS elections 2024: Steve Churton

Steve has enjoyed a long career devoted to the profession. Holding several senior level roles with Boots, he was latterly appointed as a board director and its superintendent pharmacist.

In 2007, he was elected to the Council of the RPSGB and was appointed its President in 2008. As leader of the profession Steve oversaw the work to successfully amend the Royal Charter and establish the RPS and the GPhC.

He has represented the profession in the UK and internationally, and advocated extensively the benefits which pharmacists bring to improving public health. He was made a Fellow of the RPS for his contribution to the practise of pharmacy.

Steve has had trustee and non-executive director experience on the boards of an NHS CCG, Pharmacist Support, Pharmacy Research UK, the Psoriasis Association, and other bodies.

Steve lives in Leicestershire and is kept busy pursuing his charitable interests, professional leadership advocacy and travelling.
