John McAnaw was reaffirmed as chair of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s (RPS) Scottish Pharmacy Board (SPB) on 3 July 2018, the first day of the Board’s summer meeting. Jonathan Burton was reaffirmed as vice chair and, at the same meeting, board members voted for Ewan Black to represent the SPB on the RPS Assembly alongside McAnaw, who sits automatically by dint of his position as chair.

“With a change in the ministerial portfolios for health in the Scottish Government, I am looking forward to continuing our advocacy work to ensure, among other priorities, that all pharmacists have direct access to the emergency care summary,” McAnaw said. “Equally, I am pleased to see how successful RPS Local has been to date, and I am determined to ensure that our local offer continues to develop to ensure we hear our members’ views and experiences and act on the issues that are most important to them.”

McAnaw summarised the main outcomes of the meeting in a short video released at the end of the second day.
