Tribute
Edward started working in pharmacy at O’Brien’s Pharmacy, aged 16 years. He read pharmacy at Liverpool John Moores University, and completed his preregistration training in Bognor Regis, West Sussex. After this, he moved up north again and started working for Rowlands Pharmacy in 2002.
He helped at a few branches and then settled in Earlestown, Merseyside, in 2004 where he served for 18 years as a local community pharmacist. Eddie served on local pharmacy committees and represented the profession in national meetings about the future of community pharmacy.
When his children Alice and Jacob were at primary school, there was a call for parents to help read with children who needed more help. Eddie volunteered, and was very proud when the students he helped progressed. He also represented as a parent governor.
Then, when Alice joined ten years ago, Eddie became a helper at the 45th Ormskirk Burscough Methodist Scout Colony, and he continued up until this date.
He was an avid runner, and he started the NHS Couch to 5km three years ago when he realised he was very unfit and at risk for COVID-19 complications if he caught it. Over the years he trained hard, running every morning around Burscough before work and attending the gym, doing fitness sessions many times over the week. He managed to lose half his body weight and was hoping to attend the London Marathon in the near future.
Eddie loved rollercoasters and took the family to a theme park at every opportunity.
