Cardiovascular disease
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) describes a range of conditions that affect the heart or blood vessels. Conditions can be present from birth, such as congenital heart defects, or develop later in life, such as hypertension or coronary heart disease.
Treatment of CVD is likely to involve a number of factors, including lifestyle changes, medication, medical procedures and surgeries. Pharmacists have an increasingly important role in the screening, prevention, monitoring and medical management of CVD.
Our collection of CVD resources has been organised into categories that can be accessed via the icons above or directly from the sections below.
You can also take our self-assessment quiz to test your knowledge and help identify areas of interest.
If you have further topics that you would like to see included in the CVD collection, please contact the research and learning team.
