NPA produces identification checker for insulin dispensing

The National Pharmacy Association has produced a series of tables to help pharmacists and staff to select the correct insulin when dispensing against generic prescriptions^[1]

The four tables cover the brands and types of insulin available for generic drugs most commonly found: rapid-acting insulin, intermediate-acting insulin, long-acting insulin and mixed insulin preparations.

The identification checker recommends that pharmacy staff should find out which devices patients are familiar with using before dispensing.
