The 18 regional finalists in this year’s ‘I Love My Pharmacist’ competition have been announced by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), as public voting gets under way.
A judging panel has selected three finalists for each of the six regions in the competition — London and Kent, Midlands and East, Northern England, Scotland, Southern England and Wales.
Members of the public can now view profiles of the finalists and vote for their favourite via a dedicated website set up by the RPS. The website also contains information about what pharmacists do and the services they provide.
The competition, first launched in 2014, aims to find Britain’s favourite pharmacist and boost public awareness of pharmacy. The RPS received 86 entries from pharmacists across the country after this year’s competition launched in June 2015.
In 2014, readers of Woman’s Weekly voted for Reena Barai as the national winner, while community pharmacist and RPS treasurer Sid Dajani was awarded the Editor’s Choice winner.
For 2015, the public will choose six regional winners, from whom the judging panel will select a national winner.
Voting for regional winners closes on 29 September 2015. Regional winners will be announced on 13 October 2015 and the national winner on 3 November 2015.
