Bea Perks
Journalist
Bea Perks has worked as a journalist specialising in the biomedical sciences for over 15 years. Following a PhD in clinical pharmacology at the University of Southampton, she began her career in publishing in 1999 editing two of Elsevier’s review journals: Trends in Molecular Medicine and Trends in Immunology. She became a daily news reporter for Elsevier’s online life science news service in 2001. In 2004 she joined the Royal Society of Chemistry, launching the news service of their membership magazine Chemistry World. She became a freelance journalist, writer and editor in 2013. She has written for New Scientist, Nature Medicine, Nature Biotechnology and Science and is an editorial consultant for Pro Pharma Communications (publishers of the Generics and Biosimilars Initiative Journal and the European Journal of Oncology Pharmacy).
