As part of the #WhyWeDoResearch Tweetfest 2017, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), together with WePharmacists and Pharmacy Research UK, will be hosting a TweetChat called ‘Research and evidence in pharmacy: engaging to improve patient care’. The one-hour TweetChat will take place from 12pm on Monday 15 May 2017, and may be followed on Twitter through @rpharms, @PharmResUK, @wepharmacists and the hashtag #WhyWeDoResearch.
Four questions will be discussed during the upcoming TweetChat:
- Why do you engage in research, evidence and evaluation in pharmacy?
- What examples are there of pharmacy evidence improving care and practice?
- How do you get commissioners and policy makers to engage in your evidence?
- What support is there to develop your research and evaluation skills in pharmacy?
“This TweetChat aims to explore why pharmacy professionals engage in research and evaluation activities and what impact this evidence has on policy and practice,” says Rachel Joynes, head of research and evaluation at the RPS. “The chat will provide a platform to share research, evidence and evaluation from pharmacy that has improved patient care and developed the profession. We’ll also examine what resources and support pharmacy professionals have found most useful in developing their projects and programmes of work.”
The #WhyWeDoResearch campaign was launched in 2014 and has since reached more than 11,000 participants in 22 countries.
