Pharmacy technicians are being invited to comment on proposals to revamp its professional body, the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK), including the appointment of its first salaried chief executive.
The proposals follow the news that its president, Tess Fenn, is stepping down.
The proposals are out for consultation until 17 October 2018 and APTUK members will be asked to vote for a new president and vice-president later in 2018. The successful candidates will be expected to take up their positions in February 2019, when Fenn will officially step down.
The job description of the new chief executive will be developed after the election. The role will be the first APTUK salaried director-level appointment but more are expected to follow as part of the association’s proposals to improve its succession planning.
