Missing the point of medicines use reviews

Monty Goldin said that medicines use reviews (MURs) cannot be conducted properly without full access to patient records (

)

He has misunderstood the point of MURs. It is an opportunity to discuss with a patient the purpose of their medicines and their understanding of them and, of course, general health and well-being. One of the criteria for a patient to be eligible for an MUR is that he or she should have been getting their medicines from the pharmacy for at least three months. Surely that is enough information on the pharmacy patient record system to conduct MURs.
