Call for pharmacists to front new national campaign

NHS England is searching for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to front a new national advertising campaign that aims to increase awareness of community pharmacy services.

The ‘Stay Well Pharmacy’ campaign is being launched to help parents understand how their children’s short-term, self-limiting, minor illnesses can often be effectively managed with support from a local pharmacist, rather than a GP, or through self-care.

National pharmacy organisations, including the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) and the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK) will be inviting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians attending this year’s Pharmacy Show, being held in Birmingham on 8 and 9 October 2017, to be photographed.

A spokesperson said: “Following the initial scouting phase at the Pharmacy Show, NHS England will narrow down the list and contact successful candidates to take part in a professional photoshoot. NHS England would also like these ‘faces of pharmacy’ to be available for media interviews once the campaign has launched.”

To be in with a chance to become the face of pharmacy for this campaign visit the following stands:

  • Royal Pharmaceutical Society — for the duration of the show
  • National Pharmacy Association — 2pm on Sunday 8 October and Monday 9 October
  • Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK — for the duration of the show.
