John was deputy CPhO in the DH when I was GHP President 1992-1994 and after a very long conversation with me on a 12 hour flight retuning from FIP in Tokyo he conceded that the DH needed to engage better with Hospital Pharmacy and this established regular bilateral meetings between the GHP and DH over subsequent years. He had a community pharmacy in Arnold, Nottingham and gained a degree in Law before he moved to the DH
