New CPPE learning campaign focuses on mental health

Mental health support

A new interactive learning campaign from the Centre for Postgraduate Pharmacy Education (CPPE) focuses on mental illness, and how pharmacists and their teams can support patients with mental health conditions.

The five-week campaign, which launches on Monday 9 October 2017, features a series of weekly challenges that encourage pharmacists to examine their own perceptions of mental illness; identify their knowledge gaps; and learn how to better communicate with patients experiencing mental ill health.

Learning tools include videos, research briefings (including the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Medicines Optimisation Briefing on dementia), and discussions with friends, family or patients living with depression.

Pharmacists who complete all five challenges will be entitled to one year’s free membership of the College of Mental Health Pharmacy, and will also will receive a virtual badge to add to their CPPE learning record.

Further details are available from the CPPE website.
