Pharmacists will ensure patient care post-Brexit

22 August 2018: Aileen Bryson, practice and policy lead for Royal Pharmaceutical Society Scotland, spoke to BBC 1’s Reporting Scotland and STV’s Scotland Tonight on NHS Scotland’s contingency planning for the medicines supply chain in the event of a ‘no-deal’ Brexit.

Bryson told STV that Brexit “will add a layer of uncertainty but pharmacists already manage medicines shortages on a daily basis and will continue to do so to ensure patients get the continuity of care and medicines that they need”. However, Bryson warned BBC viewers that there is “no way you could stockpile medicines in an individual community pharmacy”.

Both clips can be viewed on the RPS website.
