The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) has confirmed that Gail Fleming, director for education and professional development, will be leaving her role on 7 April 2022, following a restructure of the Society’s executive team.

This follows an announcement from the RPS on 24 March 2022 that Robbie Turner, director of pharmacy and membership experience, had also decided to leave and that his last day in post was 31 March 2022.

Both departures from the executive team come after the RPS said on 3 March 2022 that it was proposing changes to its executive structure, in line with its five-year strategy.

At the time, a spokesperson for the RPS told The Pharmaceutical Journal that it is “working on a proposal that could result in a change in the existing structure at executive level within the organisation and two roles have been identified at potential risk of redundancy”.

In his statements, Bennett thanked Fleming and Turner for their “excellent work since joining the organisation” in 2018 and 2017, respectively, and asked members to join him in wishing them “all the best for the future”.

Bennett added that he would be “updating everyone on how any changes to our structure enable us to deliver our Royal Charter obligations and our five-year strategy in April”.
