Darrin Baines is professor in health economics at the University of CoventrynnDarrin Lloyd Baines, BA(Hons), MSc, MSc, PhD nDr Baines is an established health economist, and currently Professor in Health Economics at the University of Coventry. In a twenty year career, he has analysed many aspects of health care efficiency, working in an academic setting, as well as managing his own consultancy business and being employed as an economist in the NHS. His core areas of research are prescribing and pharmacy. He gained his PhD at the University of Nottingham in 1996 researching the drivers of prescribing behaviour in general practice. He is also involved in clinical trial work, as well as the development of methodologies in health economics.
