Vijay Shankar Balakrishnan has been a freelance science writer since 2013 and currently resides in Jena, Germany. He writes about health sciences, life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences and occasionally about the environment. His work has appeared in Nature India, Lab Times, Decoded Science, Cancer InCytes, the AAPS (American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences) blog and Spigot Science. He also reviews popular and academic science books. After completing his PhD in interdisciplinary nanoscience from Aarhus University, Denmark, Vijay jumped off the bench to desk and started writing for living. Vijay also teaches soft skill courses for researchers.
