Case-based learning: menopause and HRT consultations — transcription (audio clip one)
Nuttan Tanna: Over the COVID[-19] time, it was very, very difficult. Lots of these patients were going for private care because they felt that they didn’t have immediate or quick access to NHS services. After COVID[-19], as the pandemic progressed, and we’ve gone through COVID[-19], and we are now coming back to more natural NHS service provision. What we are finding is that there are many patients who actually want to now come back to the NHS. It can be various reasons. It could be because the private prescription costs are very heavy. It could be where the private consultation costs are very heavy. If they come to the NHS, my first rule of thumb is to say they have a right to NHS service, and I’m very happy to help them.
