Images and adverts
Lead images should be cropped to a maximum of 2500px and a minimum size of 1024px wide.
The width/height ratio should be 11:6 for lead images
The images chosen should reflect the section they are being used for:
Features/opinion should be creative, illustrative and conceptual. We should use this section as a showcase for our creativity. Stock art from Shutterstock can be used, but must be exceptional if they are not modified or used as a base for a concept.
News pictures can come from Alamy, PA images or Science Photo Library for people/politicians in the news or for specific medication/product shots.
Learning/research art should be scientific/clinical looking and preferably photographs. They can be illustrated, but only if they are technically accurate depictions of the subject matter. Science Photo Library should be your first choice for Learning art. Note: Research does not have a “lead” art, but there needs to be a piece of art available to be used in the newsletters.
Professional skills/Case-based learning articles have a set style for lead images, which can be found on the server
Images to avoid (i.e. images in foreign countries/white coats/cheesy or posed images/fake injections etc)

All artwork should be uploaded to the media library with a credit line as given by the photo service used.

All components of “infographics” must be individually labelled with the PJ logo and the copyright “©” symbol.

When creating tables and figures done in illustrator, or indesign (using the template on the PJ server), be sure the final width is at least 2000px wide. (The depth will vary depending on the content). Save the file as a PNG — DO NOT MAKE THE BACKGROUND TRANSPARENT.
Recommended image sizes for social media platforms.
