Candidate for the National Pharmacy Advisory Council for Wales

Clare is an experienced pharmacist with a broad career spanning primary, community and secondary care, alongside strategic and leadership roles.
After qualifying from the University of Bradford, she began her career in hospital pharmacy at the Oxford Radcliffe NHS Trust before moving to Wales and working at the Princess of Wales and Neath Port Talbot Hospitals.
Since 2010, Clare’s focus has moved to primary and community care, advancing the medicines optimisation agenda, utilising her independent prescriber qualifications and collaborating with GP practices, community pharmacies and clusters to deliver service improvements and effective patient care.
As lead pharmacist for primary, community and intermediate care at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, Clare is committed to demonstrating the value pharmacists and pharmacy technicians bring to NHS services. She influences policy, supports the commissioning of community pharmacy services and promotes the integration of pharmaceutical expertise within operational and clinical models of care.
