Royal College of Pharmacy elections 2026: Gursaran Matharu (Raj)

Gursaran Matharu (Raj) is an experienced community pharmacist, contractor and senior pharmacy leader with nearly four decades of frontline and board‑level expertise. As chief executive of Community Pharmacy South East London and chair of Community Pharmacy London, he represents pharmacy contractors, shaping strategic pharmacy services across the capital. He has led major organisational transformation, including the merger creating CPSEL, the development of provider‑company infrastructure and commissioning innovations that strengthen community pharmacy’s role within the NHS.

Raj continues to practise as superintendent pharmacist at Westchem Pharmacy, ensuring his leadership remains grounded in real‑world patient care and operational insight. His contributions span integrated care boards, medicines optimisation groups, pandemic response teams and national contractor forums. Passionate about reducing health inequalities and developing future pharmacy leaders, Raj brings a balanced, collaborative and forward‑looking perspective to the profession — combining strategic vision with hands‑on clinical experience.
