Royal College of Pharmacy elections 2026: Kandarp Thakkar
Candidate for the National Pharmacy Advisory Council for England

I’m standing for Council because pharmacy must be louder, more visible and more influential — at the bedside, in boardrooms and on government platforms.
I bring a strategic, policy‑driven perspective shaped by over 20 years’ experience across NHS secondary care, community pharmacy and the private sector. As a chief pharmacist and founder of an independent consultancy, I’ve led service transformation, chaired committees and delivered workforce strategies that strengthen patient safety and system resilience.
I understand frontline pressures, commercial realities and how to make cross‑sector collaboration work. My UK and international roles give me the breadth to translate evidence into policy, challenge regulation when it falls short and champion the right values and behaviours our profession deserves.
On Council, I’ll push for bold, practical and inclusive policy that delivers real‑world gains in medicines use, workforce sustainability and patient outcomes — with a healthy ‘dose’ of compassion, integrity and pride in pharmacy.
