Royal College of Pharmacy elections 2026: Mildred Johnson

Candidate for the National Pharmacy Advisory Council for England

I am a senior pharmacy leader with over 30 years’ experience across hospital and community pharmacy. I am also a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, recognised for my contribution to national policy and workforce development.

As chief pharmacist/clinical director of pharmacy at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, I have corporate responsibility for medicines management and oversight of pharmacy services. I also serve as the trust’s controlled drugs accountable officer and medication safety officer.

I am a member of the UK Pharmacy Professional Leadership Advisory Board, alongside editorial and committee leadership across the healthcare and education sectors. In my roles, I have led service redesign, developed Health Service Journal-recognised workforce support tools, published professionally and presented nationally, focusing on professional standards, workforce development, patient safety, and equality, diversity and inclusion.

Committed to philanthropy, I support under-represented communities in the UK and internationally. Outside work, I enjoy aerobics, jogging and playing the piano.
