9 September 2015: The Guardian online published an article called ‘Can involving pharmacists in A&E shorten waiting times and help doctors?’. Royal Pharmaceutical Society English Pharmacy Board chair Sandra Gidley was quoted and said: “Pharmacists are at the moment largely underutilised within A&E departments. If the results from the West Midlands are replicated widely in Health Education England’s national pilot, it will be overwhelming evidence of the profound impact an enhanced role for pharmacists can have.”
