Catherine Duggan appointed new CEO of FIP

The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) has appointed Catherine Duggan as its new chief executive officer.

Duggan, a pharmacist, and currently director of professional development and support at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), will start her new position on 1 June 2018. She will be leaving the RPS after eight years at the end of April 2018.

“I’m delighted and honoured to take up the position of CEO at FIP,” said Duggan.

“I look forward to building on the great work of FIP leaders, past and present.

“To advance pharmacy worldwide, we will work through established partnerships with the World Health Organization and forge new partnerships at the global level to benefit the profession and the public,” she added.

President of FIP, Carmen Peña welcomed Duggan into her new role.

“Her excellent career so far makes her worthy of this tough but amazing position,” said Peña.

“Catherine will surely represent, with honesty, loyalty and energy, the values of our federation, fulfilling our objective of making FIP even stronger, bigger and more efficient.”
