Pharmacists can alleviate A&E pressure

8 January 2015: Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) members Kate Fletcher and Catherine Langran, both from the University of Reading School of Pharmacy, were interviewed on BBC Radio Berkshire about pharmacists in relation to the current pressures facing A&E.

They said: “With the A&E problems at the moment, there’s a big push for people to go and see the pharmacist first… the pharmacist [offers] minor ailments schemes so [you can go] there with things like coughs and colds, musculoskeletal pain — all of those kind of problems can be managed in a pharmacy rather than presenting to A&E.”
