It was perhaps ironic that notice of the passing of Jack Knight appeared in the same issue of The Pharmaceutical Journal in which the issue of doctor-dispensing surfaced again. Jack was, for several years in the 1980s, vice chair of the short-lived but, for a while, very active Rural Pharmacists Association which campaigned hard on this issue.
In that connection I met Jack several times, and was always impressed by his grasp of the legalities of a situation, and, although retired, his determination to support his colleagues.
