RPS elections 2022: Sharon ‘Sibby’ Buckle

A leader, visionary and determined, Sharon Isobel Tait Buckle (known as Sibby) delivers on her promises. A second generation pharmacist and mother to two medic daughters, Sibby is passionate about patient care and patient safety, supported by utilising pharmacists’ clinical skills and medicines expertise. Celebrating 38 years membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), Sibby will work with you to ensure the RPS is relevant, recognised and inclusive. A key achievement on election to the English Pharmacy Board was delivering on decriminalisation of single dispensing errors. Then, persuading the government to share the summary care records with community pharmacists, and leading on the digital agenda, Sibby is pushing for full interoperability and read/write access. With a successful career across pharmacy, business and communications, including 34 years with Boots UK (WBA), 12 years running her own business, and 20 years in national, international and local politics, Sibby brings a wealth of experience and insight to the RPS.
