Francis Michael Judge (1937–2024)

On 22 August 2024, Francis Michael Judge, aged 87 years, of Kent. Mr Judge was a former member of the Society. 


Frank Judge qualified as a pharmaceutical chemist from Brighton College of Pharmacy in 1960. After an apprenticeship with Arthur Mack, he purchased the chemist shop at 165 High Street, Penge, south east London, trading under the name of A.G. Mack and Co.

He was well loved and respected by the community and became known locally as ‘Mister Mack’. He grew the company into a small group of five pharmacies in the south east London suburbs.

He retired to a country house near Edenbridge, Kent, in 1997, where he managed meadowland that forms a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

He will be missed by his loving wife Jean and his three children, Christopher, Cathi and Richard.
