RPS elections 2022: Anna Maxwell
English Pharmacy Board candidate

Anna Maxwell is a trailblazer who, with her combination of healthcare professional and commercial experience, is on a mission to put the ‘P’ back into pharmacy by widening access to medicines that improve the shape of public health and make a difference to people’s lives.
Passionate about the industry from an early age, she studied pharmacy at King’s College, London. Her career spans senior buying and marketing roles at Boots, Nelsons, Pfizer and Boehringer Ingelheim, and now founder and CEO of expert switch start-up, Maxwellia. A self-care visionary, Anna helped mastermind the reclassification of desogestrel and pioneered the launch of Lovima in 2021 — seen by many as the biggest innovation in women’s health for over 60 years.
Invested in improving consumer choice of healthcare products, Anna is a member of the Self Care Forum and mentors and teaches pharmacy degree students at Keele University with a module on medicines reclassification.
